After eating all weekend at the Top Chef cruise, in typical Matt Wong fashion, I made full use of my time while in Miami and searched for a place with good food. Used my Chefs Feed app and found this place. If you’re hungry, get the large. It is HUGE.
Hot broth, delicate noodles, and assorted/tender beef.

Walking around the Shoreditch area in London, did a search for the closest chef recommended eateries and Viet Grill looked to be a solid choice. Christine definitely enjoyed the papaya salad with its fresh green papaya and the flavorful fish sauce based dressing. I thought the fatty stewed pork was tasty and the boiled egg nicely tied the broth and pork together.

Another place Bang and I checked out during our walk about in Houston, Texas. Fried rice cakes in an omelette?! Not the strangest cuisine I’ve ever had, an interesting combination. Definitely can’t eat too many of these though. The rice cakes are indeed crispy, but they’ve also soaked up a good bit of oil. Super heavy.

One of the best Pho at a restaurant I’ve had to date. When my good friends Bang and Kiem Ho said this place has some great Pho, they weren’t kidding. I went with the unique recommendation of the ph? gà khô which translates to ‘dry chicken noodle soup’. Unique because the soup, first of all, is of a chicken broth as opposed to the typical beef broth. Secondly, the noodles are served dry (without the soup), allowing you to pour the chicken broth as needed. Finally, they dress the top of the noodles with pieces of chicken, egg, and fried shallots and assorted herbs.
A lovely meal with good friends!
